Salman Khan, though known as Bad boy in Bollywood film industry for his tendency of walking into trouble, many claims that he possesses a golden heart. Salman Khan was born on December 27, 1965 to the most legendary writer Salim Khan, who was well known for writing super-hits scripts like Sholay and and Don.
Salman Khan made a debut as an actor in 1988 by acting in"Biwi Ho To Aisi” The following year his romantic role Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989 smashed the box office and turned him a heart throb of Hindi Film Industry.
He never had to turn back after that as the terrific performance in each of his films in the following years such as Saajan in 1991or Andaz Apna Apna in 1994, Hum Aapke Hain Koun...! in 1994 and Karan Arjun in 1995 as well as Khamoshi: The Musical in 1996 followed by Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998 hit the box office for his sensitive, charming and vulnerably aggressive role.
In 1998, this muscled man of Bollywood became the idol of many youngsters when his three films Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya, Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai and Bandhan hit the box office simultaneously.
But from 1998 he stepped into trouble and put behind bars for killing protected wild animals and for illegal possession of arms during the shooting of another hit film ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’.

Though the film "Tere Naam" in 2003 earned few good reviews and helped revive his career, his behaviour from his troubled life affected his reputation among his producers and distributors.
The film Phir Milenge in 2004 was appreciated by the World Health Organization (WHO) for Salman’s outstanding performance with which he was able to present the problems of patients suffering from AIDS to the world.
