Karishma Kapoor is also known as ‘Lolo’ is a popular Indian actress, born on 25 June 1974, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She is a daughter of famous actor Randhir Kapoor and actress Babita. Apart from that she is a granddaughter of renowned filmmaker-actor Raj Kapoor and sister of actress Kareena Kapoor. She is married to Sanjay Kapur, a Delhi based businessman. They have one daughter named Samaira.
She appeared in many bollywood movies and known for her tremendous performance in movies like Raja Hindustani, Dil To Pagal Hai, Zubeidaa,Fiza, and many other movies.
Karishma completed her schooling from Cathedral and John Connon School in Mumbai.
She made her debut in bollywood with Prem Qaidi in 1991, which was an average movie. In year 1992, she appeared in movie Jigar, which was super hit and she became popular overnight. After that she made her successful appearance in various other hit movies such as Anari, Raja Babu, Collie No. 1, and Jeet.
In 1996, she acted in Raja Hindustani, co-staring Aamir Khan and directed by Dharmesh Darshan. It was a blockbuster movie and she received Filmfare Best Actress Award for her excellent performance in the movie. She got opportunity to work with Yash Chopra and she appeared in Dil To Pagal Hai opposite Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. The film was biggest hit of the year and she won many awards.
In 1999, she appeared in David Dhawan’s comedy film Biwi No.1, co-star Salman Khan and the movie was super hit. After success of Biwi No. 1, David Dhawan again proposed her for his next comedy Haseena Maan Jaayegi and it was another super hit film.Her role in the film Jaanwar was much appreciated and she showed her versatility.
In 2000, she acted in Khalid Mohammed's Fiza, though the film could not do well but her role was appreciated by everyone and she again received Filmfare Best Actress Award. She made her last appearance in negative role in the movie Mere Jeevan Saathi in 2006.
