Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for some major hits like Devdas, Him Dil De chuke Sanam and Black. He showed his great talent as a director and earned well recognition. The rumor was moving around that he is going to direct a new flick, My Friend Pinto, but he refused by saying that he would not have been comfortable to direct the film and also made it clear that he is not able to do justice with this genre that prompts him to go as a producer.

Sanjay has decided to offer his great contribution as a producer, where as the upcoming flick will be directed by Raghav Dhar, who has assisted him in many films and now anxious to make his directorial debut with the film. The film stars Kalki Koechlin and Prateik in lead roles.

While interacting with the media persons Bhansali made it clear that he was not comfortable with this genre that prompts him to hand over the job to his assistant director.

He said, “We all should welcome new approach and new ideas of film making that are floating in the film industry. I was not comfortable with the genre as I have directed all the films with other genres that made me more comfortable. It is a comedy film and prompted me to withdraw my step and then, I decided to give a chance to Raghav Dhar, who has been my long time assistant director.”

He also revealed, “If I would have been decided to direct the film, it could be definitely a futile effort. If you are not familiar with the particular genre, it is better decision to step back rather than moving forward, I did the same and quite happy over my decision.”      

While asking about whether Raghav Dahr is capable of doing justice with the film;

The 48-year old director said, He has been working with me since a long time and I have great faith in him, he will definitely do justice with the film. He is a creative person and quite familiar with this genre. I hope, he will definitely come with the better result.”
