Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was born on the first of November 1973 in Managalore to Krishna Rai and Vrinda Rai. She can speak many tongues and is a versatile actress with a lot of reputation. In 1994 she won the Miss India Contest and then went on to win the Miss World contest the same year.

She made her acting Debut with Tamil Movie Iruvar in 1997. She made her Bollywood debut the same year opposite Bobby Deol in Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya. It was in 1998 she met commercial success with the movie Jeans. In 1999 she actually got stardom with Sanjay Leela Bhansalis Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam which was a huge hit on the box office and won her the best actress award at Filmfare Awards.

Then she did Taal too which was another hit on the box office. In 2000 she stared in the movie called Josh alongside Shahrukh Khan and Chandrachur Singh. Her movie after that was not a success called the Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai. Success came with Aditya Chopras Mohabbatein.

In 2002 she shot to fame with Bhansalis Devdas which won her the second Filmfare best Actress Award and was the highest earning movie of the year without any doubt. Then her role in Chokher Bali got her acclaim too. She also did flop movies later like Kuch Na Kaho and Dil Ka Rishta. In 2004 she did Pride and Prejudice her later movies like Raincoat got her claim.

Shabd and The Mistress of Spice didnt get her any attention. Recently she did movies like Umaro Jaan, Dhoom 2. It was not till 2007-8 Guru and Jodhaa Akbar movie which won her recognition on screen. Her movie Raavan also did do to well in 2010 in future she is going to appear in Guzaarish a Bhansali movie and Action Replay an Abhinay Deo movie.
